TakeRoot Walks - Trail

Since 2007, the TakeRoot festival is organized in the Oosterpoort in Groningen. To get you excited about this year's TakeRoot Festival, this tour goes to the root of Americana music in Groningen by providing a brief overview of some of Groningen’s most interesting musical sites and how they relate to Americana music. The tour focuses on rock ‘n roll, country, and blues music and features some well-known sites such as Vera and the Oosterpoort and some less well known sites such as AD Tapes and Radio Thie. It will also introduce you to some Americana-inspired Groninger musicians that you might not have heard of before.
